I have brought some PIR sensors from your company, but i seems not working properly.
I seted them on the door to detect the occupancy. What i am expecting is that i would like to know whether there are people in or out off the door. If there are people passing by, i would like to see ON (or 1), if not OFF.
But in any situation, i always see they are ON, I really do not what is the problem.
May i call you, so that you can understand me better? And what is your telephone number?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bing

Re: PIR sensor
Post photos of how you have these connected and also post the code you are using.

Re: PIR sensor
I conneted them to my WSN 3202, and use the LABVIEW to read the value of them. But whether there are people or not, the data read are always True.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: PIR sensor
What voltage are you supplying to the PIR sensor on the red wire? Can you measure the voltage on the yellow wire with a voltmeter? Are you certain that the black wire is ground?

Re: PIR sensor
I power the PIR sensor from WSN 3202, with Power 12V. I am sure that the black wire is grounded.

Re: PIR sensor
Can you measure the voltage on the yellow wire? It should pulse 3V when motion is detected and remain at 0V when no motion is detected.

Re: PIR sensor
I measured, they are always swithching between 0.4V to 3.4V.
I do not know why?
Thank you.

Re: PIR sensor
That means they are detecting movement. 3.3v is logic HIGH for the output of this sensor.they are always swithching between 0.4V to 3.4V.
http://www.adafruit.com/products/189#Description
Runs on 5V-16V power (if you need to run it off of 3V you can do that by bypassing the regulator, but that means doing a bit of soldering). Digital signal output is 3.3V high/low. Sensing range is about 7 meters (120 degree cone)

Re: PIR sensor
But i would like to make it ON (3V) where there are people in or out. But OFF (0V) where there are not people in or out. What should i do now?

Re: PIR sensor
What is in the field of view of the sensor? Any moving or changing source of heat (human body, animals, automobiles, some types of machinery) can trigger the sensor.

nothing around them. I just put them on the door.
Thank you.

Re: PIR sensor
the Sensing range is about 7 meters (120 degree cone), may i narrow them down?
I do not need those large ranges. What i need is to detect whether there are people in or out of the door.
If i can, what should i do, and how should i do?
Thank you.
