Thanks for confirming the SPI connection on the ICSP header is enabled, that's odd that the CC3000 isn't getting past the initialization. Can you post pictures of the soldering just to check if there are any potential issues with the connections?

I've touched up the solder points, even de-soldered and re-soldered all connections.
Still the same issue exists.

Thanks for checking the soldering lamarts, at this point it sounds like there could be something wrong with the board itself since we've ruled out the power supply and soldering. Let's replace the board, can you email [email protected] and point them at this thread to get a replacement CC3000? Thanks for the patience with all the troubleshooting and hopefully we can get a good board to you soon.

Thanks for working with me on this. I'll send out email. I'll also purchase the shield version.

I am having the same problem with a CC3000 shield and Mega. I'm confident with my soldering. I did notice that when I connect 12V to the mega I get 10V on Vin on the CC3000 and with only USB I get 5. I have a lit LED on the CC3000 for what that is worth. This is the first time I have tried this device. The Mega works fine and continues to work fine with the CC3000 shield attached.

Nevermind! One of my jumpers was no good. Should not have been so confident with my soldering!

it's been just over a year that I posted that the CC3000 would not initialize. Since then, life got in the way.

I received the replacement yesterday...(no fault of yours). I soldered the pins, wired it up with the Arduino Uno and "Bam!"...it works like a charm.

Thanks Support!!!!

:-)
