Motorshield with arduino pro mini
The default operating voltage for the motorshield is 5 v if I cut the logic trace from 5v and connect the 3.3v to the center does that turn the operating voltage to 3.3 or only the logic for the i2c communication. I want to use an arduino pro mini running on 3.3v. I don't mind adding an additional 5v supply if the motorshield will still need the 5v. Thank you

Re: Motorshield with arduino pro mini
That is just the voltage for i2c communication. The PWM chip and the H-bridges need 5v.

I'm sorry I need a follow up to clarify. After cutting and jumping do I need to supply both 3.3 and 5v to the motorshield or just the 5v.

If you select the 3.3v logic jumper, you need to supply 3.3v for the i2c pullups and 5v for the ICs.. The jumper determines which pin the i2c pullup resistors are connected to.

I got the promini working and now I am trying the Rfduino. When I select the DCMotortest and the Rfduino board and try to compile I get the attached error even without a board attached. If I select any other board no errors when compiled.

That sounds like a compatibility issue between the RFDuino and the Wire Library. The Motor shield interface is i2c, so the wire library is required to talk to it. You should check with the RFDuino folks about wire library compatibility with their board.

Rfduino fixed the problem I am now creating a schematic for my project in eagle. I found the motorshield. Brd but what I would like is the shield as a component in the library. I have downloaded your eagle library but cant find the shield as a component is there one?
