In my recent order, I received a PowerBoost 500 Shield, as well as a 2000mAh Lithium Ion Battery and Charger Doctor.
With the battery connected to the shield, and the shield plugged in to a wall charger via the Charger Doctor, the meter on the Charger Doctor indicates it is drawing 0.03 A (30mA) at 4.8 V. The 'charging' LED lights, as expected. However, when unplugged from the wall socket, the LED's on the shield (with battery connected) do not light up. The shield behaves the same whether or not the switch is used (I didn't solder it, but the connection was good).
The Charger Doctor indicates that a PowerBoost 500 Charger with the same battery draws 500mA in the same charging configuration. The Powerboost 500 Charger performs as expected when the battery is attached (blue LED indicating power is on).
Am I doing something incorrectly with the shield, or did I just get a lemon?
Thanks,
Ken Adcox
