Stepper motor by Adafruit Motor Shield V2 for Arduino

Post by jahidferdous »

Hi,

I have bought recently a Adafruit Motor Shield V2 for Arduino and a stepper motor (Stepper motor - NEMA-17 size - 200 steps/rev, 12V 350mA). The shield works fine with the adafruit stepper motor. However, due to its very low torque, it can not serve my purpose. I have another stepper motor from phidgets (http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?ca ... _id=3327_0). I am just wondering whether the shield will work for this motor or not. If so, then how can i connect them as the wiring sequence is very important.

Thanks,
Jahid

Recommended Voltage 12 V DC
Rated Current 1.7 A
Coil Resistance 1.7 Ω
Phase Inductance 3.2 mH
No. The V2 motor shield is rated for only 1.2A per channel.
That motor appears to be designed for a constant current 'chopper' drive like the Synthetos G-Shield:
