Ez Link bluefruit Bluetooth module

Post by sverhaev »

Hello,

I recently bought an Adafruit EZ link bluefruit module.

This module is connected to an arduino ( the idea is to control a robot remotly using a smartphone)

The wiring is as follows:
* GND is connected to arduino GND pin
* DSR is connected to arduino GND pin
* Vin is connected to arduino 5V pin
* Tx to arduino Rx pin
* Rx to arduino Tx pin
* DTR is connected to a capacity - side / + side is connected to arduino reset pin

I powered up the module and launched a search under Android 4.4.2 (LG L 70).
My phone is set visible to other devices.
The module is detected (it appears in the list)
When clicking to start the pairing, the phone cannot pair and I got the following message: "Adafruit EZ-link 4d6b unavailable. Try again?".
I tried about 30 times at different distance / angle same result.

I made the same test with samsung S3 same problem

Using the laptop working under windows 8.1,
I click bluetooth icon
I set my laptop visible to other devices, click add a bluetooth device.
The module 4d6b appears in the list, I click then the driver installation starts .
The module appears in the bluetooth device.
I have two com ports standard serial over bluetooth link (com 4 and com 5).
When trying to pair, I got the following message: try again and make sure your device is still discoverable. no available services or remote device connection failure.
I tried this about 50 times even on another laptop working under windows 7.

I even reinstalled the drivers without positive results.

Could you indicate me if the module serial number is from a wrong batch/ what other actions I can do?

Thanks already for your feedback.

We don't have any indication of EZ-Link modules from that batch having problems.

Let's double-check the hardware. Could you post a photo of the EZ-Link and your connections please? 800x600 images usually work best.

Your solder joints and connections look good, so there's nothing visible that would cause trouble with pairing.

That means the trouble is probably inside the BT module.

Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a new EZ-Link.
