PN532 connection problems

Post by gin078 »

Hi! I recently purchased a PN532 to use with my Arduino Uno. After soldering on the header pins as indicated on the site, I have had trouble connecting to the device using the provided Adafruit-PN532 library. The busy light remains on and the device reports "Didn't find PN532 board" with the readMifare sketch. Strangely enough, with the apduToBlackberry sketch (in the Adafruit_NFCShield_I2C library), the busy light flashes when reading either NFC or RFID. If I change the baud rate in the apdu file to 9600, I get messages that read:
"Found chip PN532
Firmware ver. 1.6
<when tag passes>
Tag number: 1
Don't know how to handle this command: 81"

Can you please advise?

Thanks!

Post a photo of your hardware and connections and we'll see what we can find.

I couldn't upload them to your site for some reason.

Is there anything that you can see? Maybe something I'm missing?

Sorry for the late reply.

The forum places a limit on file sizes, and the 2-3MB files you get from a raw camera image these days are much larger than it will accept. 800x600 is usually a good size.

Unfortunately I can't check the files you posted previously because they lead to a page saying that the server/project has shut down.

Thank you.

The joints look good, but double check the one at the center of the photo.. it looks like you may have lifted a pad on that one.
