Motor shield v2 CAD model, required pins on Mega2560?

Post by aaddcc »

Hi,

I was hoping to find a CAD model of the Adafruit motor shield v2 so I can put them in my model and create an enclosure. Is there a model I can download somewhere?

Also, I know the I2C pins are required to be connected, but are any others? I know ground should be connected to arduino, but do I need to have the 5V source come into the 5V pin hole on the shield? I am not stacking them, so I want the bare minimum pins I need to connect to. Can I assume the motor power supply powers the logic of the board also, or does it need the 5V from the Arduino?

Thanks!

These are the EagleCAD files we use to manufacture the boards. They are not full 3D CAD models. Just board layout & schematics: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Mo ... eld-V2-PCB

You need 5v and GND. plus SDA and SCL for the logic.

Motor power can come from the external power terminals, or from the VIN pin if the VIN jumper is installed.
