Bluefruit Shield problems

Post by sdfink04 »

When the bluefruit shield we purchase is connected via the provided headers to the arduino, we cannot receive data from the device. However, when we instead connect the two by wires for TX/RX and power, we can receive data. We have checked all connections and soldering. The problem appears to be with the function of the board. At this point, this has cost us way too much time. We would like to exchange it for the bluefruit ez-link, which we think will work much better and has better documentation.

The EZ-Link's connections are fairly simple.. RX to TX both ways, power and GND.

Post a photo of your hardware and connections and we'll take a look.

What we have is the shield. So the connections are simply it is plugged in with the headers, then two jumpers going from SRX and STX on the shield to digital pins 0 and 1 on the Arduino.

To authorize a refund or exchange, I'll need to see the shield.

The problem you described could be a bad trace on the PCB, but it could also happen because the slide switch on the shield is set to the wrong serial connection. Either way, I need to confirm the condition of the board visually. Please post a photo of the shield.
