You could move to a Mega or add a few port expanders.

Another possibility is to just unplug the shield when you need to upload to the UNO.

Re: Adding a female Header to a Motor shield v2
Port expander seems to work; what do you mean by: "Another possibility is to just unplug the shield when you need to upload to the UNO" Which pins does it free up if I unplug the shield when uploading programs?
Also, I ran into a problem when adding a camera. It seems pins2&3 are shared with another possible device. Is there a workaround for this? Is there just a way to call out other pin locations?
Lastly, I would like to wire-up a speaker board (https://www.adafruit.com/products/94) to this board, but I don't know if there is a way. Is there a way?
Thank you.

It would remove any connections that you made to pins 0 and 1. These two pins are used for uploading programs to the UNO.Which pins does it free up if I unplug the shield when uploading programs?
Since you are already running out of pins (and probably running out of memory also), I think you need to move to a platform with more pins and memory available - such as the Mega. Also, I ran into a problem when adding a camera
...
Lastly, I would like to wire-up a speaker board
Unfortunately, the Wave Sheild is not compatible with the Mega. A better choice would be this board: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1788

Can larger speakers be plugged into the board? https://www.adafruit.com/products/1314
Is there a volume control on this board?

Can you provide a schematic or photo on how to connect https://www.adafruit.com/products/1788 to Adrino-uno?

Yes. It can handle those speakers. Can larger speakers be plugged into the board?
Just assemble it as shown in the guide, then it plugs right in.Can you provide a schematic or photo on how to connect https://www.adafruit.com/products/1788 to Adrino-uno?
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-mus ... r/assembly
If you plan to stack it with other shields, you will need to build it with stacking headers: https://www.adafruit.com/product/85

I am already using the motorshield, so can I wire the sound board to my MCP23017 chip in photos above? If so, is there a schematic available and how would i call out the new pins in the code?

Re: Adding a female Header to a Motor shield v2
I don't believe that is possible to do. However, it is entirely possible to stack it under the motor shield.so can I wire the sound board to my MCP23017 chip

Re: Adding a female Header to a Motor shield v2
if I stack the sound board under the motor shield, I need a female connector on the sound board at the same locations that there are male pins the go into the Adrino-uno. Can you provide guidance to a connector system that allows me to stack the sound board between adrino and motor shield? What parts do I need to buy to make this happen?

Re: Adding a female Header to a Motor shield v2
ok. so the "Shield stacking headers" are soldered so that the pins go through the sound board, or other board, and become male pins that go into the Ardrino-uno female headers. If I am wrong, please let me know.
Does each board in the chain need an assigned a unique address?.: So once I stack the sound board between the motor shield and the Ardrino, and if I stack a DATA LOGING SHIELD between the Ardrino-uno and motor shield, are there special instructions for each board in the stack boards regarding unique address? For each board in the stack, are there details to provide unique address for that board?
Lastly, If I want to use camera https://www.adafruit.com/products/1386, can I attach the wires to pin -6 and pin-7? And if so, where in the code would I change the pin callouts?

Correct.so the "Shield stacking headers" are soldered so that the pins go through the sound board, or other board, and become male pins that go into the Ardrino-uno female headers.
Yes. for i2c-based boards like the motor shield and data logging shield. These are listed ion the product description page.Does each board in the chain need an assigned a unique address?
For SPI-based boards like the Music Maker and the SD card of the Data Logger shield, you need to make sure that there are no conflicts between the chip-select pins.
Possibly. You may run into some pin conflicts with the other shields.Lastly, If I want to use camera ... can I attach the wires to pin -6 and pin-7?
It sounds like you are trying to do too much for a single processor here. In addition to pin conflicts and memory issues. I think that the code to manage all of those devices at the same time is going to be very complex. Maybe you should start by describing what it is you want to accomplish with this system.
