piggy back a wave shield and a motor shield

Post by cap »

Hi...I would like to piggy back a wave shield and a motor shield on an Arduino Uno. Is this possible? And are there examples or instructions? Thanks!

It is possible with the V2 Motor Shield. Not with the V1. We do not have any examples or tutorials for that combination.

I would love to see some examples - I'm playing around with stacking the Wave Shield and the new motor shield and am not confident in my stacking decisions, my one pin conflict etc.

We don't have any tutorials with that combination of shields. But the V2 motor shield and Wave shield will have no pin conflicts.
Our Sheild Compatibility Guide is a good reference for pin usage.

They both want Pin 10 (SD card on Wave Shield, second servo on the motor shield).

Servo pins are passed straight through. They have no connection to circuitry on the shield and are not used unless you connect a servo to them,

It would be an issue if I needed the second servo, or no?
Thank you

You can connect servos to any unused Arduino pin with no special circuitry. The headers on the motor shield are only there for convenience. You can make your own servo headers in the prototype area of the board using any availible pins.
