Adafruit Motor shield v2 not working
I purchased 2 Arduino motor shields v2 along with quite a few other items. I soldered on header pins on one shield, everything worked perfectly. Then I soldered stacking headers to the other motor shield I bought. It received power (green led on) but the stepper motor test example file did not work. I tried other small tests (including checking my soldering) with no luck to make it work. I then noticed a rattling in the second not working motor shield that the working one did not have. I'm assuming this is a sign of a broken element on the board. Is there a way to get a replacement shield?

Please post photos of the front and back of the shield.

The back looks good. Can we see the front also?
The rattling noise is probably just the screw-terminals. Unless they are clamped down on a wire, the clamp faces will rattle a bit.

Oops forgot to upload it. Here is the other side: http://imgur.com/sbaS36c
This shield rattles while the other (working) one I have, does not. The other shield does not have stacking headers, only normal headers so that could easily be the rattling. However, the problem persists that the shield does not run my motors even though the green led is lit.

I don't see any address jumpers set. You need to assign unique addresses when stacking boards.

Re: Adafruit Motor shield v2 not working
Although I attached stacking headers on this board, I tested it by running it without stacking another board on it. Running by itself on the arduino using a stepper hooked in as show in the tutorial in the docs did not work to make the stepper move.

Re: Adafruit Motor shield v2 not working
Some of the screw terminals are clearly not clamped down, so that is the source of the rattling and not a concern.
What motor and power supply are you using?

Re: Adafruit Motor shield v2 not working
I am using this power supply: https://www.adafruit.com/products/658
and this stepper motor: https://www.adafruit.com/products/324
The motor and the supply are not the problem because I have run a different motor shield with both of those items and it worked.
