I have brought an Adafruit Monochrome LCD Shield for Arduino.
I've soldered all the pins, installed the Adafruit librarys and uploaded the Example Sketch.
And after adjusting the potentiometer, I was able to see the "Hello, world!" on the display and buttons worked as well.
But unfortunately the "Hello, world!" is very light and there's almost NO BRIGHTNESS on the display, so it's very hard to see what's on the display.
So does anyone know how to fix that?

Could you post large (less than 1meg,~800x600), clear, detailed pictures of both sides of your board showing any soldering you have done and the connections to it?

Those solder joints need some work. I can see gold where the solder hasn't made a connection to the pads, and in a few cases I can see the gap between the edge of a hole and a pin.
