Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Combo: Not working

Post by bluehawk301 »

The wireless mouse and keyboard I ordered (URL: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1738) has not been functioning correctly. The keyboard is fine, and works well with my Raspberry Pi. However, the mouse does not work at all. I have tested other wired mice with my Raspberry Pi and they worked. Additionally, I tested the wireless mouse I purchased from Adafruit with both a Mac and a PC, and it did not work.
I have plugged in the one USB adapter. There are fresh batteries in both the mouse and the keyboard.

The Pi starts up. I am able to log in with the keyboard, which functions correctly.

How do I fix this? Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you in advance for a quick and helpful response.

Have you replaced the batteries?

Yes, all of the batteries I was using were brand new, and I had replaced them 3 different times to see if there was a problem with the batteries.

In this picture, the red light is flashing. The cursor is stuck in the middle if the screen and does not respond. How do I get a refund for this? Nothing I am doing to fix it is working.

Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread for a replacement.
We are investigating a couple of other failures with this mouse. Please run sudo dmesg and post the results here - that may give us a clue.
Also, our engineers may ask you to return the faulty kit. Support will arrange that for you.
EDIT: No need to return the kit. Just email [email protected] for a replacement or refund.

I have the same problem with the mouse. It shows, with batteries installed, the red LED on the underside lit. But the mouse does not seem to be talking to my PI.

@russell1collins could you post a picture of the label of your keyboard?

Where is the label on the keyboard? There is none on it.

Everyone: It turns out that the factory changed chipsets on us, and the mouse no longer works with Linux. We are looking into a solution, but we don't have one yet.

In the meantime, please email [email protected] for a refund.

You can sign up for notification on the product page when we get this issue resolved.
