X-Bee Adapter and 3.3 Volt Processors

by sellensr on Tue Dec 11, 2012 11:37 pm

I understand that the 5V signals going into an X-Bee Adapter are level shifted to 3.3 to protect the X-Bee from e.g. an Arduino UNO, which I have working now.

How should I hook up the adapter to work with the Arduino DUE operating at 3.3 Volts and make sure the DUE doesn't get fried?

GND-GND RX-TX TX-RX and 3.3V to 3V on the adapter (bypassing the regulator), or supply 5V to the adapter and count on it to shift all the levels down?

3.3V to 3V on the adapter (bypassing the regulator), or supply 5V to the adapter

Either way will work.

Two correct answers are always the hardest to pick between
