Shorted XBee?

Post by jon henry »

HI, I purchased two XBP24BZ7WIT-004 units along with a USB explorer board. When I tried programming the XBees via the explorer board, one programmed fine but the other shuts the board down when plugged in. The leds all go off on the USB board as if the XBee is shorted and leaving it in a while heats up the board. Is it dead?

I believe that model of the XBee has a large module mounted on the back of the board. Make sure that it is not contacting the header pins on the USB adapter.

Pin1 should be VCC. Sounds like an internal short somewhere. Contact [email protected] with a link to this thread to arrange for a replacement.
