I just bought several Xbee (and PRo) series 2 ( with whip antenna) from Adafruit and being new to XBee I am trying to learn all I can about them.
Question: what are those whose its (technical term) that look like solder pads on top of the XBee? I want to mount some SMD indicator LEDs and was wondering if that is what they are for. I can't find any information on the top connections for the XBee.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
What are the solder pads? On top of the XBee series 2?

You should check Digi.com as they make the chip and would know things we do not. Here is what they have as a datasheet http://www.digi.com/pdf/ds_xbeemultipointmodules.pdf

Re: What are the solder pads? On top of the XBee series 2?
First place I checked however their data sheet does not show, nor address the "solder pads" on the top. I will have to call Digi anyway since I have bricked four of the 8 or so the I bought by following the book Wirless Sensor Networks. The book is great but changing the mode through firmware updates using XCTU always works the first time but rarely a second time. I have to "recover them" then they may work with Cool Term. From what I am seeing on the Internet, bricking the Series 2 is very common. Which I had gone with the Series 1.
