Monochron display problem
My monochron developed a problem after months (years?) of operation. The bottom rows are showing garbage. I'm pretty adept at soldering, but figured that maybe I had made a mistake so I took it apart looking for a problem. After checking everything I can't figure the problem. Image is attached...does anyone have a guess?

Does pressing on the bezel affect the display at all?

Re: Monochron display problem
I will double check tonight. I did try to slightly push in to/pull out of the header strip slightly and removed/reinserted when I had it apart to see if it helped and it didn't.adafruit_support wrote:Does pressing on the bezel affect the display at all?

Pressure on the bezel has no effect on the display.

Re: Monochron display problem
Sometimes the conductive elastomer strips that connect the lcd controller to the lcd itself lose contact. But that usually takes out whole rows or columns. It looks like you have just a few dead pixels.
I have heard that you can sometimes fix stuck pixels on LCD TV's, but I don't know if the same techniques would apply to these displays.
