The schematics are on the Design Page. The relevant parts are shown below. The signal that controls that segment is VFD_D. You will need to check the joints at the VFD Chip, JP1, JP2 and the tube itself.

Find R3 on the main board and follow the trace to Pin 1 of JP1. Beware that JP1 and JP2 are mirror images of each other, so even numbered pins on JP1 are odd numbered pins on JP2.

i have located the pin on all parts (on my third pic over starting over the little hole on the bottom 2 pins to the left). there is voltage on jp1 jp2 and the cathode itself (the little wire going in has power). all the other segments behave as anticipated when grounded (not lighting up) except this one...simply nothing changes. could it be the cathode?

On the tube board, short VFD_D to one of the other segment pins. See if the "D" segment follows the one it is shorted to.

OK then. It is likely a bad tube then. Contact [email protected] with a link to this thread and ask for a replacement tube and side-PCB.

I think that's exactly what happened to my clocks... I dodn't know much about how to fix them back those days though, that's a pity...
