Bicolor LED Square Pixel Matrix in TIMESQUARE

Post by DisruptItYourself »

I was wondering if there would be any other big hurdles that I am ignorant to in adapting the Timesquare watch to work with the Adafruit Bicolor LED Square Pixel Matrix with I2C Backpack (ID: 902), other than adapting the code to utilize multiple colors. I think it would be a really cool project.

The pinout is different on the bicolor matrix - it's a 24-pin package, while the single color matrix the watch is designed for is a 16-pin package. You'd have to redesign the hardware to use the bi-color matrix.

And unfortunately -every- -single- -pin- on the ATmega is already being used with the single-color matrix on the TIMESQUARE. This would be a pretty monumental project, would have to change to a different chip and stuff.

Thanks for the info guys! I guess I'll just get the normal kit for now instead and find another project.
