I was getting a little frustrated poking through the original and other third party firmware for the monochron, primarily as there is little documentation / comments in the code and in at least the various multichron forks, the wildly varying coding standards made for hard going. (An example of the latter is the different methods used for compressing fonts, and locations (progmem and eeprom)).
Adafruit ought to update the monochron product page to point to https://github.com/tceulema/Emuchron for alternative firmware - it's well documented, reasonably clean design and implementation, and of course provides an emulation environment for rapid go-anywhere development!
Rgds,
Ben

Thanks, we'll add that link! MonoChron is a very old project at this point, and was only really intended to run the pong-like code - its neat what people have done with it! :)
