When building the NeoPixel clock it says on the circuit diagram page to "Solder 4 pieces of the the NeoPixel 1/4 60 Ring together".
This is very vague (but probably simple) and I don't see a way to keep them clipped together in a circle shape other than gluing them to something.
What/How are they soldered together so that they are rigid? What type of wire is used to solder them together?
How are they positioned in a circle and how do they maintain that shape?

Arrange them face down on a flat surface, You can use masking tape to hold them in place while you solder.
Simple solder-bridges will hold the ring sections together, but wont take a lot of stress. You will want to mount it to something rigid like the plexiglass used in the tutorial.
