What happens if tube is soldered incorrectly?

Post by kmb9522 »

So despite the numerous bold and capitalized warnings, I screwed up and shifted all the wires for the tube on the ice tube clock by one pin. I missed this when looking over the tube, and plugged it in anyway. The note says "the kit will be ruined"... what does "ruined" mean?

Everything seems to check out... boost circuit is generating ~+15V at the diode, piezo beeps on power up (presumably indicating the atmel chip is okay also)...

I have some tubes coming from the bay and I ordered a replacement baby PCB that holds the tube... If I just wire up a new one, will I be okay?

Thanks.

You should be OK with a new tube. The warnings are because it is nearly impossible to de-solder and re-solder a tube without damaging something.
