Adafruit OLED assembly question

Post by mhenstell »

Hello,

I'm working on a project that uses several OLED displays, similar to the 0.96" Adafruit display (http://www.adafruit.com/products/326). The display has an FCP connector with an odd 0.65mm pitch.

How does Adafruit assemble their units? It looks like the board is pasted, the OLED put down by hand, and I would guess the interface is hand-blasted with a rework gun. Am I wrong, can these OLEDs survive a trip through the toaster?

Thanks!

Hi

normally it solder by hotbar

it kind of bar the heat and activate glue on flex(carbon pad) or melt solder for tinned pad
but heat was localized on flex to PCB contact area ..

LCD will not survive to reflow oven

Best regard
