I have a project enclosure with walls that are about 3.7mm wide. I have an opening cut in one of the side walls for a micro USB receptacle. The problem is that the wall is just a little to thick to get a reliable connection from the male end of a USB cable.
Does anyone know of a part number for an extended USB female connector that could be mounted on my PCB? Or, does anyone know where I can get some USB cables with longer tips that can get through the thick enclosure walls?
Thanks

I have used panel mount USB for the exact issue you describe, BUT then you have to wire it to the board instead of SMT

Or you could use a small header and terminate the ends of the panel mounted usb jack with a crimp connector or similar.
