Hello,
can you get the 220V version of the Hakko FX-888 for a similar price as the current 110V offer?
They seem difficult to come by in Germany (where I shop) and from the two offers, one was twice as much, the other three times as much! So, including shipping, I may get it cheaper when ordering from adafruit, especially when I add the one or other goodie to the package.
Thanks.

You can get them in Akhibara, but I'be been using mine with 110/220 step-up/step down transformer with no trouble

Hakko also sells replacement transformers, buy the 110version, and swap it?
I also have the same problem here in Norway, this station extremely expensive, around $270, so I dropped it and bought an controller on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Soldering-Stati ... 0620434360
I use that with an old Dell laptop psu, and bought the hakko 907 pencin for $9 on also ebay.
Cheap, and it works.
But now I found an seller on ebay that sells the fx951, that cost me , with shipping, the same as the fx888 station.. I'm probably going to pay an hefty import tax on it (25% extra), but an 951 should last an lifetime for me.
Now my next problem is, where to buy tips, they of course starts from $30 here..
