Hi,
So I decided I would finally use my soldering iron today as I had some electronics to come in I was eager to try. This is my first time.
I plugged in my soldering iron to check that it worked, and it did, so I unplugged it. I put my first resistor ever into my circuitboard and went to plug in my soldering iron again, but it won't turn on. I was looking forward to soldering for the first time.
But it won't turn on no matter what I do? It's the beginners pen soldering iron from the big electronics starter kit.
Please help.
Soldering iron doesn't work at all.

So it got hot the first time you plugged it in? Make sure you didn't blow a circuit breaker or trip a GFCI. Plug a lamp or something else into the same socket and make sure it is still live.I plugged in my soldering iron to check that it worked, and it did, so I unplugged it.
