Hi All,
apologies if this is a near duplicate of http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.ph ... on#p362455 or perhaps the iron mentioned in that thread is no longer available ? Product ID (PID) unknown. (*note 1 - website suggestion.)
In a new products video, dated 10/8/2014, Ms. Ada describes an adjustable (50 Watt?) iron (F.F. to @ 24 mins, 20 secs.), but she doesn't mention its name, just that it is "like a Pentel." From the images, we can see that its model number is:
AT-SS-50
It looked nice because of the adj. knob, but more over because it can use Hakko tips.
1) Has that iron been discontinued ?
The only adjustable iron I could find is a 30 Watt'er -> Product ID: 180 https://www.adafruit.com/products/180
but the description does not mention its replacement tips.
1) So they do look like Hakko's, but are they?
*note 1 - if we happen to search for product by PID and it is discontinued, it would be helpful to have the response indicate the item is in fact discontinued or better, replaced by the newer version - instead of just returning 'item not found.'
Adafruit is wonderful :))
thanks !

(PS the capcha is educationally sweet, but typographically annoying - LOL )

Not sure about the AT-SS-50, but we do have this Hakko station:

hiya, the AT-SS-50 has been discontinued, the 30W iron we carry now is not hakko-tip compatible.
