No, neither work with a sketch, both work with USB cable. No blue tooth connection.

No, I think he means that both Unos work with a USB cable, but neither works with the EZ-Link.

So, the LED does not flash rapidly when you try to download? You've tried both COM 17 and COM 19?

Have you tried the loopback tests from the tutorial with the new EZ-Link?

We can try replacing it again, or I can offer you a refund. Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread and tell them which you prefer.

I received the replacement again and it worked part of the time. Now it will still connect but will not transfer sketches. I have tried other apps with the Bluefruit and it connects immediately and will send data etc. When I try to send with Arduino sketches, they compile ok and after a bit the connect leds flash faster but will not receive the sketches. I am wondering based on the other apps, should the faster flashing leds connect immediately like the other apps or only when the sketch is about to be uploaded? It would appear that there is a timing problem between the Arduino and the Bluefruit.
Please advise.

The rapidly flashing LED indicates a connection. It will only flash rapidly during the actual upload attempt.

Do you see the RX and TX LEDs flashing?

Please post clear, detailed pictures of both sides of the module, showing your soldering and connections

The blue TX and RX LEDs on the EZ-Link do nothing at all when the red CONN LED starts to flash rapidly? That makes no sense.

You say it works sometimes, but not always?

When the red leds flash fast, there are no TX and RX flashing leds on the Arduino. Only when the blue leds on the Bluefruit are flashing.

Right - the blue LEDs are what I'm interested in. So those are flashing, but the RX and TX on the Arduino are not. That means that the EZ-Link is working, but you have a bad connection between that and the Arduino.

Try some different breadboard jumpers and locations. If it still doesn't work, try using jumpers to connect directly between the Arduino and the EZ-Link if you can - bypass the breadboard entirely.

Just to clarify, when the red leds flash fast, the blue leds have only flashed when the uploads work correctly. Otherwise nothing will transfer to the UNO.
I am at least getting a consistent fast flash on the module.
I will try to bypass the bread board.
