Thank you in advance for your time. I am new here and just purchased some initial equipment for a project and nothing is working.
I am trying to figure out why the Gemma is not behaving the way it's said in the forums and on Adafruit site. I have a macbook with 10.6.8 running on it. I have another apple with Yosemite 10.10 OS running and the Arduino software
would not install at all. So, I have the software running but i keep getting this message: avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f)
The red light turns on when plugged in and quickly shuts off. When I press the little button the red led comes on for
a couple of seconds or so and turns off again. It never flashes at all. I have tested my cable it's good. I put a USB2 hub
inline and that doesn't do anything either.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Could be a bad Gemma bootloader. Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread for a replacement Gemma

Re: USBtiny error Mac 10.6.8 Gemma
Hello again, so the new one came in and I believe it works and now this error message pops up:
avrdude: error: usbtiny_receive: usb_control_msg(DeviceRequestTO): no connection to an IOService (expected 4, got -6)
Any ideas? I have tried several times now using both usb ports. restarting the computer and reconnecting the Gemma.
Thanks for your help.
