Current and battery monitoring

Post by xavo »

Dear Adafruit people and Mosfet cat,
I'm using a PCA9685 to control a bunch of servos. Is there a way (from Arduino) to monitor the battery level of a 4 pack of triple A?
It will be nice to have a led in my robot turning amber and then red when the batteries need to be replaced/recharged.
And is it possible to monitor (again from Arduino) how many Amps the servos are drawing?
Best wishes,
Ronald

The INA219 can monitor both voltage and current from your battery pack. https://www.adafruit.com/product/904
If you are using alkaline batteries, the battery voltage decreases steadily during discharge and is a reasonable indicator of the charge state.
