Tilt Sensor Question

Post by kcasperson »

What is the voltage required for the tilt sensor?

I am thinking of putting one of these on the tailgate of my truck wired to an led in the cab (to signal the tailgate is open). I have the hot and ground from the battery ran to the rear of the vehicle and have had it hooked up to a Pin Switch, however the pin switch didn't hold up to the tailgate being opened or closed.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

These should work with 12v. It is just a little ball-bearing inside the tube. When tilted up, the ball makes contact and 'closes the switch'.
