- how far away from the wall are your LEDs?
It's about 8 cm - a bit too close but my tv holder can't be adjust in this direction. I suggest 10 cm - it eliminates probability of appearing "circle lights" from leds at wall but it's close enough not loosing saturation of colors.
- how did you attach the LEDs to your tv?
I used four strips made of plastic linked with each other with small bevels. Such a frame I attached to my lcd with double sided tape. Believe me or not, but I attached leds with standard plaster in a roll :) - it's enough strong to hold them, it's easy to cut and if I want to correct a position of leds it's easy to remove them. I believe that there is something better than this but I didn't have time to look for a better solution ;) .
- how far from the edge of your tv did you stick the LEDs?
About 1cm from edges, leds aren't visible when I sit in front of my tv. When I move myself about 1,5 m to the left or right side I can see leds but I watch tv at the most with one person more so it doesn't bother me at all.

I'll make a photo of it later, I realized that I'm not good at describing things with my English ;)

How did you attached your leds so neatly? They are all exactly at the same height!

The website of lightpack has been updated (although it seems down for now) and the lightpacks are official for sale now (75 - 100 euros).

Your description is accurate. It looks very good. I tried to film it, but my camera cranks the brightness so far up you can only see grain. I tried again, but now took the video with my phone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsKkkDhp ... 47J0FanTIj

I fastened the LEDs with duct tape. Just took my TV off the wall and spaced out the LEDs so the distances between the LEDs were somewhat even and the heads of the LEDs were just inside the edge of the TV. Stupid of me to forget that the TV has a translucent rim, so you can see the tips of the LEDs, which is fun for a video, but when watching a movie, it's really distracting. Also, the color of the wall behind the TV is a very dark purple, so the colors get drowned out immediately. I stuck some cardboard to the wall to make the light more visible, and my girlfriend (who light lights and everything shiny) immediately gave me permission to paint the wall, or at least part of it :D That'll be my project for the weekend ;)

My TV was very close to the was, 16mm. It was in fact so close that i had to increase this distance to wall to accomodate space for the LEDs. This small distance from the wall results in the very bright spots visible in my video.

And Smajor, I'll upload my profile sometime :oops: Just keep forgetting, because working with the LEDs and lightpack code keep stealing my attention ;)

In attachment you can find my frame for leds. Pictures aren't great - I took them with my phone.
It doesn't look too professionally but it fulfill its function ;)

May I ask why you placed the leds so close to the edge? Look at my project pictures: http://imgur.com/a/e3Xfl#0.

I wanted to get maximum light to be seen at my wall. At the picture leds may look as if they were sticking out beyond tv edges but they are not visible when I sit in front of it.

You can see a final result here:

@Taifuuni
Thats even betten than the original. Do like the corner placement too. Congrats!
Do You think, it can hold up under the pull of 50 leds? What is it anyway? Looks nice!

@Swissarmy
Virtuose ducktape using skills! :p
I checked out Your config file, looks very precise. So the corners are better like that?? Do You think its a common problem? Should I make an option for that (with Your help).

Thank you! The white board is made of white 3mm polycarbonate sheet. So yes, it can withstand anything 8)

No, I don't think it's a common problem. My tv has a very wide bottom front frame because there are quite big speakers in it. That's why I changed formation in Lightpack software from square fields to more rectangular and additionally place them one on another a bit. It prevents from appearing darker spots of light on a wall (when distance between leds is too far).
That's my opinion and it works for me but it doesn't have to for somebody else ;) .

To sum up - I wouldn't change your configurator, it's good enough as it is.
When somebody wants to use adalight with a tv which has different width of front frames he has to find the best place for putting leds on the corners by his own anyway.

I rearranged the Corners, and also adjusted all box sizes, which forced me to place the boxes differently.

thats pretty sweet.

question now. the brightness of my adalight setup seems very dim. is there a way to increase the brightness, but have the colors still change between scenes?

How close is your monitor to the wall? For the Adalight LEDs, ideally this should be about 6 inches, or maybe even a little less. Also, a dark room helps, obviously. How dim are we talking?

the monitor is about 1/2ft away from the wall since its on one of those hybrid stands. if i change the mode from ambilight to backlight, and increase the brightness to 100%, they appear to be really bright.
