TFT Touch - Prototyping and then final project

Postby bunger » Sun Feb 26, 2012 2:46 pm

I am testing the TFT Touch ( Breakout option, not the shield ) with an Arduino Mega 2560, using the tutorial and code provided on the Touch's product page.

https://www.adafruit.com/products/335

When running the graphics test code, I get "Unknown driver chip 1313" in the serial window... so I am guessing my wiring is wrong. Which leads me to my question:

Ultimately, the touch will be mounted inside a plastic case such that just the screen is displayed through a cut out. I thought about soldering the breakaway header pins to the board and plugging that into my breadboard for testing/prototyping, but then I am stuck with those pins for the final project ( unless I desolder them ).

So my question is: what is the easiest way to wire this guy so I can switch from prototyping to final without a bunch of re-work?

thanks in advance for the suggestions!

yes your wiring has an issue, you can use female-female jumper wires once the project is ready to be mounted in a box

Would I use female to female or female to male with the mail end soldered to a perma proto board?
