Advanced Usage (HL1606) Tutorial Question

Postby Kejaed » Sat Mar 03, 2012 12:46 pm

In the Advanced Usage section of the HL1606 tutorial it says:

The latch pin (L) can be any pin but pin 10 (Arduino)

but then the picture shows the yellow line connected to the latch pin on the strip going into pin 10 of the Arduino:

I'm a little confused by this description, am I missing something?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi Ken, we haven't sold the HL1606 for nearly a year now - did you buy the strip from Adafruit?

I did not buy the strip from Adafruit, but I have found the tutorial and sample code very helpful (thanks!). I wired everything up as the tutorial says and it worked just fine with the sample code, but I was left a little confused by the part that I mentioned. I do not mean to take any of your resources for support for a product I didn't order from you, I was just hoping to contribute back if there was indeed something that could be cleared up.

I did purchase my HL1606 strip from Adafruit and I'm puzzled by exactly the same contradiction in the documentation. Suggestions?
