Can EL panels be cut? If so, how?

I purchased an EL starter pack (PID 627). I have an application where I want the EL panel to be disk-shaped. Can the EL panel that comes with this kit (PID 623) be cut into a disk shape? Besides the area around the connector, how much of the strip around the edge of the panel needs to be left intact for the panel to continue functioning?

you can cut them as long as you have the connector still attached and you leave a bit of the silver stripe next to the connector (which is how it attaches to the EL panel), a disc shape is totally fine, you can even cut holes in it!
do not cut it while powered, of course
