Neopixel Ring 24 Power Consumption on reduced Brightness

Post by Letitflow »

Hello everyone!

I am using a Neopixel Ring 24 in a Smart Home Controller that i am working on.

In the Neopixel Uberguide you say that "Mixed colors and lower brightness settings will use proportionally less power."

The approximate maximum at 5v is 1,4A for this Ring. Can you tell me if my following calculations are proper?

All Pixels are lit. Each Pixel only uses 1 Led/Color and the Brightness ist set to 50 (strip.setBrightness(50)).
Max Consumption for each Pixel is ~60mA, so 20mA per color. I am using about 1/5 of the Brightness so my consumtion should be:
24*60mA*0,2*0,33=95,04mA.

Thanks in advance.
