Hi
I have a few questions regarding the USB + Serial Backpack Kits (ID782/789).
1) Is it possible to buy the USB backplane with a 20X4 display instead of the 16x2 one shown?
2) Has it been tested for compatibility with LCDProc on FreeBSD 9.2.X? I am wanting this as an information display on a NAS box I am building.
3) Will the backplane work with a Raspberry Pi? I have a project in mind that will use the 71mm touchscreen LCD and, if possible, a seperate LCD display that does not tie up the GPIO pins. I need the pins as part of the project.

Re: USB + Serial Backpack Kit questions
We don't stock the kit with a 20x4. You'd have to purchase that separatelyKiwiGeek wrote:1) Is it possible to buy the USB backplane with a 20X4 display instead of the 16x2 one shown?
I don't have any information on specific OS configurations. All I have is the general information that the USB interface shows up as a COM/serial port on Windows/Mac/Linux. If the USB doesn't work for some reason, you can always fall back to serial.KiwiGeek wrote:2) Has it been tested for compatibility with LCDProc on FreeBSD 9.2.X? It should work either as serial or USB with the Pi.KiwiGeek wrote:3) Will the backplane work with a Raspberry Pi? I have a project in mind that will use the 71mm touchscreen LCD and, if possible, a seperate LCD display that does not tie up the GPIO pins. I need the pins as part of the project.

Re: USB + Serial Backpack Kit questions
Is the firmware sourcecode for the AT90USB162 available for those wishing to tweak it or reprogram the backpack?
