Hi,
I saw that you can extend your EL wire with the "In-line power cable 1 meter long extension cord", and I also saw this "Because this is meant for EL wire extending, and EL is not 'polarized' we don't guarantee that that the plug and receptacle have 'matching' wire polarity. If you're using this for DC power or signal, triple-check the polarity before plugging it in! " but I'm not sure about the meaning of it.
Is it because, when you cut it to the lenght you want, you have no way to know which end goes onto which stripped part of the EL wire ? And how do you check the polarity of it ?
Thanks !

Re: EL wire & Extensions
thats right, the striped wire may not line up on the extension or splitter! you can use a multimeter to check polarity, either continuity mode or plug it into the power supply and use voltage reading
