Neopixel strip iron temp - lifted pads

Post by chrisla23 »

Any general recommendation as to soldering iron temp for working on neopixel strip (60/m)? I have an adjustable iron. I have had several of the pads end up lifting after soldering them for what seemed like a reasonable amount of time. I am wondering if I've got the iron up too high.

Thanks,

-Chris

I run mine at about 370 C (~700 F) If the iron and the pads are both clean, it should only take about 3 seconds to complete the joint. It helps to tin the wire ahead of time - especially if it is stranded.
