My (2) ID:607 32x32 RGB LED 4mm Pitch Matrix Panel look like

Hi,

I'm reaching out for 2 reasons. I believe I need to speak to someone over the phone to resolve this vs. posting in a tech forum although I was told this is the next step? Please advise how to proceed ASAP given the below information and attached images/video.

1) My (2) ID:607 32x32 RGB LED 4mm Pitch Matrix Panel look like they originated from different production lines, the intensity of light on one panel is older and the panel looks worn. Perhaps I should send both back so you can see the difference? The production of the boards is different. The left board in IMG_3979 is the preferred matrix for my application.

Details indicating differentiation:

Left Panel:
2P249R at top left corner of panel
Smaller, less white led fronts.

Right Panel:
Sticker k-p4-0808
Thinner
Brown Spacer on 3rd image
Some of the color pins must be swapped. In the final image, what is blue on the left is green on the right.


2) Ultimately, I was planning on purchasing 7 more of ID:607 to create a square grid of (9) 32x32 RGB LED 4mm Matrixes. However, I'm concerned about running into the issue of older vs. younger panels as my deadline is fast approaching within the next 2 weeks. Is it possible to have someone hand check this new order to make sure all is correct?

hiya, we cannot guarantee that the panels you order are from the same manufacturing run, they vary from batch to batch. we have this note on the product pages for our matrices:

Please note! These panels are remainder stock from factories that make huge light boards. For that reason, the look and size might vary from batch to batch, even though the basic operation, codebase and tutorial is the same.

Hi,

I understand the the appearance of the physical panels may vary, however, the fact that LEDs on a particular panel are significantly dimmer than the other indicates a production flaw or that a particular board is nearly expired, therefore that should be replaced.

What can I do to have the "burned out" panel swapped for another one? Also, if I order 7 more panels, is there a way to have someone at Adafruit QC those to be sure none are "burned out" as well? Please advise ASAP as my deadline is fast approaching.

sure, email support@adafruit to get a replacement. we've never heard of 'burned out' panels before and we've sold *a lot* of these so not sure what it is
