Picked up a TFP401 board and the corresponding 5" touchscreen to use with a BBB. The HDMI works fine, but the touch does not appear to be working. The red LED for the touch indicator does flash when when the screen is touched, and flashes at 1hz(?) as a heartbeat when not touched. The mouse pointer also appears at the center of the screen.
Does the calibration mentioned on the learning page need to be done before use?

Re: TFP401 with BBB
hmm!
on windows did you see it adding the mouse driver at all? (check Device Manager, unplug/replug and see if it adds a mouse or other device)
can you try another USB cable?

Yes, have tried 4 different micro cables.
In Windows 7 device manager, it does show up as HID-compliant Device and USB Input Device.
Mac OS 10.10 shows AR1100 Touch Controller under the USB Device Tree.

Thanks for your help!
Was configured as I2C device, not USB mouse - didn't realize the chip could be configure differently. Still need to work on the calibration.
