yea definitely real, it has trouble giving the virtual machine control of the screen since it technically sees it as just a mouse, good thing I had an old pc with hdmi laying around

HI
Just got mine, does not work as Touch on Pi
I plugged it on Windows and Mac using same cables - works fine on both and it seems pretty calibrated
Do I have to install anything other then a fresh Raspbian image?
Since it works on both Win and Mac do I need to recalibrate?
i tried ...
I did download ARConfigurationUtility and started it but its window is way bigger and cannot be resized
Then I tried with 2 Monitors HDMI being the main
I cannot drag the huge window of the Cal Utility to 2nd screen to resize it
Any other windows i did open are draggable
No idea what to do next
BTW - the touch LED blinks same speed on Pik as on Win when "touched" but no reaction on the screen

thx

kuy, the pi USB ports sometimes have difficulty, you can use 'sudo lsusb' to make sure it can see the AR1100 mouse, you can also run the calibration utility on a 'second monitor' follow the directions here

THIS IS a real pain you know where!!!
Was working fine yesterday, I did shut it down and unplugged everything BUT NOW is NOT'
Does NOT show in dmesg
I plugged it back on the Win machine
Run the calibration which NOW always defaults to 5 wires no matter how many times i set it up to 4
Did the calibration
Was ok on windows
Plugged back on the SAME pi - NOT working
Beyond annoying and frustrating

Interesting
I had no idea that IT DOERS MATTER which USB port the TFT is plugged in
Tried 3x with same result
If the USB is changed ( I have 2 on R-pi B ) from the port used on 'initial' setup of the TFT the Touch doers NOT work
Is this Normal?

Hi Kuky

So your touchscreen does work properly, when you allways connect the screen at the same usb port? Are you talking about the white usb or the usb mini b from the touchscreen controller board?

Have you plugt all 3 cables (HDMI, usb-power(white one) and the usb mini b) into your raspberry pi?

Thanks for an answer!

Do you think I remember? ;)
The Touch/power mini USB cable goers in the Rpi. That's it
Is there any other option?
What white usb?
What 3 cables?
Are we talking about the same unit?
Mine has 2 ports 1 HDMi and 1 mini usb for touch/power

And yes it works fine - is a very nice screen BTW

I am having exactly the same issue as kuky.

The screen is calibrated and working fine through windows
When I press on the screen when connected to RPI the led responds but nothing happens on screen.

Please can Adafruit advise what is going on.

The touch works now! I used the raspbian Image, there was no problem with the touch.

I installed on the raspbian an xbmc-os, but there is the touch not working properly.

When I touch the screen, xbmc react like something was touched, but no on the position, I touched.

Example:

Touch the middle of the screen, the settings in the left corner opens. And yes ;), the screen is calibrated correctly!

I will fix this on my own!

Thanks for your adviceses, will stay activ in this post, if someone else has any troubles ;)

How can this be considered an acceptable solution

The screen is marketed as being raspberry pi compatible - to quote Adafruit - "In particular, we suggest it for use with single board computers (or desktop/laptops!) with DVI/HDMI output like the Raspberry Pi"

What is the point if it does not work on xbmc which specifically allows touchscreen support.

Again - Please can Adafruit advise.
