5v via USB enough?

Post by sonefiler »

Hi,

So I am working on a project creating an Nvidia Shield from scratch. I am hopefugly going to be using a USB power bank to power the whole thing, but my issue is that your pages list 5v, the USB specification, as the absolute minimum. Will I be able to use a 2.1A USB port without problems using this adaptor (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/4007613049 ... =82&chn=ps) to power one of your 7 inch IPS 1280x800 displays? I won't be using speakers.

That is just a cable so it will depend on the power supply you plug it in to. Something like this https://www.adafruit.com/products/1994 would give you 2A.

I wanted to make this portable, so I was going to go with this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00LAEBJN ... mdsc?dsc=1) but after reading about the 5.25v thing, Is there a USB power bank that can do 5.25v?

This is the one we have in the shop https://www.adafruit.com/products/1566 and it seems to work fine.
