problem with Piccolo circuit
Hi, I built a Piccolo circuit, following your tutorial, and it work great for a long time, but recently I have this problem: when I power on the Arduino, the LED matrix is blank until I snap my fingers, then the matrix fills to the top and stays full. I've tried adjusting the gain on the mic, and I've tried a different mic, symptoms continue. If I remove the mic from the circuit, the LED matrix goes blank again. Any idea what has failed?

Re: problem with Piccolo circuit
I tried adding a resistor in series with vcc to the microphone, lowering the mic vcc, and it started working well again. I checked the voltage on the Arduino's 3.3v out, and it's about 3.25v. With the resistor, vcc to the mic is 1.34v. So I guess these mic's gain goes north over time, and the adjustment doesn't work anymore?
