ST7565 LCD does not display
I'm having trouble getting my LCD up and running and wondering if someone could take a look at my setup. I'm using an Arduino UNO with the 4050 shifter chip and the library from Github. It complies and uploads with no errors. I've noticed that the Tx blinks only once right after it finishes uploading, other than that nothing happens. I've tried both the st7565lcd and gol sketches with the same result. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't quite see in the photos posted. Make sure that the level shifter chip is oriented correctly. Pin 1 is at the end with the notch in it.

Thanks for the reply Bill. The notch is oriented towards the upper right in the above pics.

Hmmm. The chip is angled from upper left to lower right in the photos. Which end is the notch on?The notch is oriented towards the upper right

Somehow the attachments are a mirror image of what it actually looks like, weird. Anyway, the notch is on line 19 of the breadboard.

In that case, the wiring all looks correct.
Does the backlight light up?
Check all your breadboard jumpers. Give them a little tug to make sure they are gripped well by the breadboard contacts.

All three colors of the backlight work. I have wiggled/pulled all the jumpers and torn down/rebuilt the wiring with no change.
Is there troubleshooting I could do with a multimeter on either the 4050 chip or LCD?

You can write a simple sketch to set the state of the Arduino pins. Then verify that when each of the Arduino digital pins is high, that the corresponding 4050 output pin is at 3.3v.Is there troubleshooting I could do with a multimeter on either the 4050 chip or LCD?

Re: ST7565 LCD does not display
Ok, I used the blinkwithoutdelay example to blink the lcd backlight using each of 4050 outputs. The backlight blinked with each one, though it was noticeably dimmer than connecting it straight to the 3.3v strip on the breadboard. This means the 4050 chip is working properly and the LCD is DOA?

Sounds like a display problem. Please contact [email protected] with a link to this thread for a replacement.
