Was working fine and then screen went white with vertical bands. There is a component on the back that looked damaged when the backpack arrived but it worked perfectly for months so I didn't worry about it...until now.
Is this something that would cause a sudden failure?
Any ideas what would cause this failure? Screen was working and then dropped out to muted vertical bands. Mostly white. video and power leds are both lit "Good".
Thanks!

Can you post a shot of the flex cable connector? That may be loose.

Hmmm... Looks like it's pulling out a bit. Can you gently pull out the two back ears and try sliding the cable in a little farther? Then re-secure the ears. There's a little more silver showing on the cable than I think there should be.

Re: 5" HDMI Backpack with Touch stopped working
Gave it a whirl. It is definitely pushed all the way in and secured.
Had it in a case that protected the back and front but had the sides open. That is the only reason I am doubting the ribbon cable connector as the culprit. It had never been jostled or bumped until the monitor went out. The silver section did appear longer than I am used to seeing but it is all the way in.

Here is what it looks like. Several attempts to seat ribbon and pulled it out to assure there was enough contact area. Just a little long in the silver. Should make contact easily.
