Hello,
I was advised via [email protected] to make a new forum post about this.
I have the same issue as in this topic:
viewtopic.php?f=47&t=71608&p=364469&hil ... on#p364469
I have a single pixel on a dotstar 60/m led strip that won't fully turn off the red. (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2240)
I have done some experimentation and found that when 0 is set for this pixel, the red still illuminates about equivalent to 0x20.
The pixel is number 35 on the strip, so right near the center.
So, what are my options, besides cutting the pixel out?
And, if i were to cut the one out, can you refer me to any docs on how to put the 2 ends together?
Thank you
DotStar LED will not turn fully off

Re: DotStar LED will not turn fully off
If you set all the pixels to 0 do they all turn off except this one? To cut the strip and reconnect it you would cut through the copper pads between pixels and then solder the cut ends together. I would add a bit of wire to strengthen the joint if you don't plan to stabalize the joint in some other way.

Hello,
Yes, when the entire strip is set to off, this one still has a residual red.
Thanks for the info on the cutting.
