Hi! I plan to use EL wire and an inverter (https://www.adafruit.com/products/317) to pimp up my helmet. Naturally the weather can't always be predicted and there are chances that the inverter will catch some rain.
Is it safe? Is the unit remotely water resistant? If no then is it safe to enclose it in a water resistant enclosure?
Can the EL 3v inverter be used outdoors/exposed to rain?

There is no weather sealing on these units. But it would be OK to embed it into an more weatherproof enclosure.
