Cheap Trinket-Based Blinking?

Post by RunningHot »

Hi all. I am working with a shoestring budget for a local Cub Scout pack (boys aged 7-8). I would like to show them how they can "electrify" their pinewood derby cars.

I would like to use a Trinket, a CR2032 battery, and an LED with configurable blinking that can be controlled by the Trinket.

Can anyone point me to a kind of "cookbook" or the right set of docs that would let me know how this is done, and then relate it to small kids? The lights would go on a car that they build out of pine, so things like a breadboard wouldn't be allowed (would add too much weight as total for car is 141 grams).

Thanks.

Take a look at page 22 https://learn.adafruit.com/downloads/pd ... rinket.pdf If you plan to run this off the lipo battery make sure you get the 3v version of the Trinket.
